Principle 9 of the MC&I SFM requires FMU to undertake the assessments to identify areas of forest with High Conservation Value (HCV). Therefore, Pasin FMU had engaged Dr. Yap Son Kheong of SK Yap Forestry & Landscape Advisory Service as HCV assessor in 2016 and a set of management guidelines was developed to protect these identified features. To assess the effectiveness of the measures in the management of the HCV areas in the FMU, HCV monitoring has been conducted annually by the FMU.
